write_on campaign 2015
I love mail. I love stamps. I love addressing envelopes. I love stationery and papers and all of it. I love mail. So when I heard about the Write_On Campaign to celebrate National Letter-Writing month, you can guarantee my heart skipped a beat.
Sponsored by a couple of West Coast letterpress and typophiles, Eggpress and Hello!Lucky, this month-long letter-writing project challenges lovers of handwritten correspondence to send 30 letters in 30 days. Not only are they a source of encouragement and inspiration, but they're also kickstarting your month of letter-writing by giving you four of their beautiful cards and! a Sakura Gellyroll pen. You can pick up your free kit by signing up here.
Well, that's all fine and dandy. But what do you write about? No problem, they've also compiled a list of reasons to write. Write to a business you appreciate and admire. Write to a relative you haven't seen in a while. Write to a kid you love and maybe they'll want to write, too. And my favorite suggestion, write just to save the USPS. This project will cost you $14.70. It's a goal and a fun one, at that.
So be on the lookout and hasten to your mailboxes throughout April. I'll be on a mail-sending spree.
