Last April does not seem like it was a year ago, and yet, here we are! I've been looking forward to Write_On since I sent off my final campaign letter on April 30. I have sent plenty of letters since then but there was a real air of excitement throughout the month of April as I sent off letters and anticipated replies in my mailbox. Because it's a simple joy to receive a handwritten letter in your mailbox. This simple joy is becoming less and less common and it's a shame to see a perfectly good simple joy slip into obscurity, especially when beautiful stamps, pretty paper products, and the postal service still exist.
I've made my list of folks to write. I've even included some of the people I admire and would love to send something to, like J.K. Rowling and Mr. Feeny (William Daniels). I mean, what better occasion to voice your appreciation to people so out of your league? I may as well shout into a void but, instead, I'm going to write a letter. See, Write_On even gives me confidence! Humble me before it becomes unwieldy.
April has 30 days and I have 20 of those days assigned to friends and family and minor/major celebrities. That means I have 10 letters I need to send and if you're interested, I'll send one to you. I love sending mail and finding bits of ephemera to include with my letters - personalized pieces I find that I know would make the recipient happy.
Here's the deal: if you'd like a letter, fill out the form below. If I get 10 people to submit, that's it - expect a letter some time in April! And if more than 10 people submit (who do I think I am, William Daniels?) then I will randomly draw ten names from the list and send good vibes out into the universe for everyone who submitted their info. Good deal?
I encourage you to participate in Write_On! Last year was so pleasant and I'm so excited to start this year. Buy some stamps and stationery and start. Good luck!
