It has been quite an exciting January already. I'm settling in to my new role at the Foundry Art Centre and just wrapped up a very fun exhibition at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel. This will be our fifth trip over to the Czech Republic to help lead a Teen English Camp and our theme this year is pictured above; we will be studying men and women of faith in Czech history. To prepare for the camp (and kill two birds with one stone for the Czech-themed exhibition I have at a local arts centre) I researched all the people we will be studying and drew them. This advice was written down and given to me by the friends and family that surrounded us on our wedding day. I think about these a lot, if only to chuckle about the inordinate amount of pop culture quotes on that list of advice.
It's fairly easy to apply some of that advice when you love somebody. Serving each other is both intentional and habitual simultaneously. The fights are uncomfortable but resolved quickly. I've eaten plenty of crow and apologized on more than one account. We haven't gotten a dog yet but we're thinking on it.
