Name: Jillian Kaye Schoettle

I am a designer and artist in traditional & digital media. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Studio Art. This background trained me in a wide variety of mediums and now I have an inclination to mix several practices in one project. While in college, I began freelancing and delved further into comics, hand-lettering, and calligraphy. And during my education I worked at an art gallery and managed their graphic design, social media, print materials, branding & logo design, aided in gallery management, gallery design, and membership management, and was head of communications as the copywriter and advertising contact. I left there, tried my hand at other jobs, and came back in December 2015 to work as the art gallery's bookkeeper and marketing coordinator.

My digital portfolio of artwork done for various clients is located here.

I hand-letter envelopes for special events and would love to make your invitations as special as you'd like.

Please, feel free to contact me for more examples or with an idea of your own.

I love illustration, typography, and a well-drawn ampersand. I have a keen fondness for the Czech Republic and good television, so I write and draw about both often. I draw inspiration from Edward Gorey, Bill Watterson, Alphonse Mucha, Lois Van  Baarle, Glen Keane, and Shaun Tan. I'd be no where without my wonderful husband, Jacob, and a supportive family whom I love. I enjoy reading, vinyl records, antique stores, crosswords, beautiful doorways, musical theatre, cloud formations, and macaroni & cheese. The drum solo in "In The Air Tonight" is probably the best thing ever and I get really sad if I turn on the radio and that part has already passed.
