Name: Jillian Kaye Schoettle

I am a designer + artist in traditional + digital media. I earned a BFA in Studio Art in 2012 and I've been cultivating my freelance business ever since. This background trained me in a wide variety of mediums and now I have an inclination to mix several practices in one project.  Specializing in typography, hand-lettering, and portraiture, I find most of my inspiration from pop culture, music, musicals, movies, and television. My artistic background also factors into my interest in mail and postal art, and in teaching art and English at Teen Camps in the Czech Republic. I've had the pleasure of working for a variety of clients, local and national, including Michaels, Sakura of America, Visa, Cheree Berry Paper, Click2Mail, Joseph Todd Events, and Michelle Rago Destinations.

I hand-letter envelopes for special events and would love to make your invitations as special as you'd like.

Please, feel free to contact me for more examples or with an idea of your own.

I love illustration, typography, and a well-drawn ampersand. I have a fondness for the Czech Republic and good television, so I create about both often. My art icons: Edward Gorey, Bill Watterson, Joey Chou, Alphonse Mucha, Lois Van Baarle, Glen Keane, and Shaun Tan. I enjoy reading, buying vinyl records, picking through thrift stores, doing crosswords, photographing beautiful doorways, musical theatre, cloud formations, watching Wheel of Fortune, and riding my bike with my family. I live near the Saint Louis area with my husband and son.
